Soetsu Yanagi finished the book ‘Bi-no-Ho-mon (the Dharma Gate of Beauty)’ in 1949, which is one of his main works. Yanagi had continued searching for the Buddhist aesthetics and intended to found the absolute structure of aesthetics throughout his life. This exhibition introduces documents relating to the Buddhist aesthetics as well as works which bear the Buddhist aesthetics found through Yanagi’s direct perception. The film of Yanagi’s lecture in October 1955 on Eastern philosophy will be also released for the first time.
